Sweden has maintained Zero new covid-19 cases and just one death from past 3 weeks, without mask/vaccine mandates and without social distancing. Sweden was the only country which did not go for lockdowns or any other kind of covid-19 restrictions since the beginning of the 'pandemic'. Sweden's chief epidemiologist Dr. Anders Tagnell threw the CDC recommendations and the apocalyptic SAGE modelling predictions in the dustbin so far and has totally ignored Fauci. This success has been possible because Public Health Dpt has so far been able to keep itself independent from political pressures.

While the media is busy calling it a 'gamble' or an 'experiment', Dr. Tagnell has maintained that we need to have concrete data before taking any step. He says the same thing about 'delta variant'.

In an interview with Claudia Nye, the documentary maker who made Covid, Tango and the Lagom Way, Dr. Tenell proves that he has a backbone of steel.

Highlights of the interview:

Vaccination is voluntary in Sweden. Coercion (incentivizing) for vaccination does not fit into Swedish model.
If you have very high vaccination rates in adults, you may not need vaccination in children.
PCR test used just for testing (i.e mass testing) is not a good option. The test is not design for asymptomatic people because of its false positive, false negative issues.
Dont wait for test, until you get sick, start treatment as soon as you have minimum symptoms.
There is no asymptomatic spread, there maybe 'presymptomatic' spread but thats also very difficult to define.
In January 2021, Parliamentary statutory powers were amended so that the government can interfere in Public Health. Since then Sweden saw some restrictions on large gatherings.
Since the cases are going down very rapidly, we are on the right track and we dont intend to make any major changes in our approach to covid-19.
