Monsanto Causing Farmer Suicides in India

"One very alarming sign that change is needed NOW is the wave of farmer suicides in India. The rate of Indian farmer suicides, for instance, has greatly increased since Bt cotton was introduced in 2002.

A publication from the New York University School of Law shows that in 2009 alone, 17,638 Indian farmers committed suicide, which translates to one farmer every 30 minutes. A great number of those affected are cash crop farmers, cotton farmers in particular."

Patenting seeds is such a crime against humanity. Moreover once these seeds are planted in your land, other seeds dont give produce. Because they change the nutrients and other components of the land. You have to buy those seeds again to get a good produce.

The irony is that he now appears to be advocating for the restriction of scientific freedom in favor of health policy, a notion that's completely unconstitutional.
